Hegel Augustin brings veteran guard toughness and two-way pop to Prairie View A&M
Augustin is a 6-3, 205-pound guard whose best trait is dependable all-around impact: in the 2022-23 season at Prairie View A&M, he averaged 9.1 points and 5.1 rebounds while also producing steady steals and physical perimeter defense, and he has shown he can carry scoring bursts like his 21-point game against Texas Southern in January 2023[1][2][4]. The catch: his shooting efficiency was modest in that season, so he looks more like a rugged, high-motor connector than a pure shot-maker[3][4]. If a team wants edge, rebounding from the guard spot, and some old-school competitive bite, he’s a fit[1][2].
