Durable Davidson RHP with flashes, but still searching for consistency
Champey has been a workhorse for Davidson, appearing in 20 games in 2025 and logging 30.2 innings, with a save and a scoreless 3.1-inning outing against Lafayette showing he can handle leverage. His calling card is experience and durability, plus occasional strikeout upside—he reached five punchouts in a game twice across his Davidson career—but his three-year college line still shows a high ERA, so the key question is command and run prevention, not raw stuff. He fits best as a depth arm or bullpen project if your staff believes in development and role flexibility.
