Emerging USD linebacker with size, range, and special-teams runway
In the 2025 season, Sammy Peterson appeared in two games for San Diego, a small sample that points to a developing linebacker still earning his stripes. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound sophomore brings a nice blend of length and athletic juice, and his high school résumé — 77 tackles, three forced fumbles, four pass breakups and an interception in 10 games — shows a playmaker who can hit, disrupt, and run. He also logged track speed with a 14.9-second 110-meter hurdles PR, which is a sneaky-good tell for sideline-to-sideline range. Good fit if a team wants a fast, physical developmental LB with upside.
