Wandel Campana is Western Illinois’ spark plug at the top of the infield
In the 2026 season, Wandel Campana has been one of Western Illinois’ most reliable bats, ranking third in the OVC with a .388 average and appearing nationally in the NCAA batting-average rankings; Illinois also highlighted him at .429 with a 1.073 OPS and a nine-game hit streak, underscoring his early-season consistency. He brings left-handed contact, speed, and toughness, with the WIU staff calling him athletic enough to play multiple positions and noting his strength, speed, power, and work ethic. He’s the kind of grinder who can raise a lineup’s floor—and annoy opponents in all the best ways.
