Luke Evenson brings high-end defensive versatility and a proven winning pedigree to South Dakota State
Evenson enters South Dakota State as a catcher/outfielder with a strong all-around profile: he was a 2025 Class 1A Player of the Year, hit .452 as a senior, stole 100 bases across his prep career, and threw out more than 40% of would-be basestealers, showing both athleticism and impact on both sides of the ball.[3] Scouting reports add that he has explosive bat speed, an aggressive gap-to-gap approach, quick hands, and solid arm strength, making him a useful fit if you want a versatile, high-motor defender who can create offense beyond pure power.[2][1]
