6-7 BYU wing with real stretch-forward juice, but the shot never fully clicked in Provo
Tyler Mrus is a 6-foot-7 forward who brings spacing, size, and a catch-and-shoot profile that once made him a legit Big Sky threat; in the 2024-25 season at Idaho, he averaged 9.7 points, hit 38.0% from three, and ranked second in the Big Sky with 73 made threes. At BYU in the 2025-26 season, though, he was more of a depth piece—27 games, 9.6 minutes per game, 2.0 points, and 31.3% shooting overall—so the big question is whether his shooting gravity returns. He’s best viewed as a floor-spacing wing who can punish help defense, but not yet a fully proven high-major rotation anchor.
