Tegra Izay is Southern Miss’s 7-foot rim protector with efficient finishing and real size
In the 2024-25 season, Tegra Izay gave Southern Miss a high-efficiency interior presence: 60.4% shooting, 3.1 rebounds per game, and 0.86 blocks per game in 11.2 minutes, per team stat tracking and game logs. He’s a classic big-man fit if you want size, shot deterrence, and low-usage finishing around the rim; at 7-0 and 269 pounds, he brings old-school paint gravity, and Southern Miss notes he was the tallest player the program had had in 14 years. The upside is obvious: protect the rim, make life miserable in the lane, and do the dirty work.
