Zach Munton gives HCU a veteran, defense-first catcher with timely contact pop
In the 2026 season, Zach Munton is a senior catcher for Houston Christian who brings steady two-way value: he’s handling the position well, contributed multiple key RBI games, and has shown he can chip in offensively without being the loudest bat in the lineup[3][6][10]. His profile stands out for toughness, experience, and defensive reliability, backed by a strong college catching résumé and a history of being recognized for defense; that makes him a practical fit for teams that want a dependable backstop who keeps the game organized and can still do a little damage when it matters[1][4][7].
