Drew McDowell is emerging as SDSU’s toughest arm, with back-to-back hitless gems in 2026
In the 2026 season, South Dakota State right-hander Drew McDowell has shown real swing-and-miss potential and poise, highlighted by two straight six-inning, no-hit starts and a team-leading four wins before the postseason. At 6-foot-2, 225 pounds, the sophomore from Billings brings a power frame, heavy workload tolerance, and a competitive edge that showed up in a combined no-hitter and a Summit League Pitcher of the Week honor. He looks like a fit for teams wanting a starter who can attack hitters, handle pressure, and give length when he’s locked in.
