Rex Watson has become Coastal Carolina’s left-handed run producer with big-moment pop
In the 2026 season, Rex Watson emerged as a real lineup problem for opponents at Coastal Carolina, posting a .290 average, .379 on-base percentage, .542 slugging percentage, 12 home runs, and 64 RBI while also earning All-Sun Belt Second Team honors.[1][2][3] The appeal goes beyond the box score: he showed clutch power with a walk-off grand slam and another go-ahead homer in the same weekend, and he chose to stay at Coastal because he believes in the program’s direction.[6][8][2] A left-handed hitter who can handle right field and bring steady, contagious energy, he looks like the kind of bat a team can build around.[1][3][5]
