Track-Speed RB with Elite Versatility, Now at Rice
Davis Lane Jr. is a high-intensity, track-speed running back (6.41s in the 55m) whose true differentiator is elite versatility—he thrives on special teams and as a dual-threat passer (1,500+ yards, 18 TDs) rather than just a volume rusher. Though his 2025 Virginia stats were low-volume (9 carries, 39 yards), his intensity, injury-free history, and track pedigree make him a perfect fit for teams needing a dynamic, multi-role athlete who brings 24 games of experience and a 'versatility is the name of the game' mindset. He’s now at Rice for 2026, ready to explode with more carries.
