Youngstown State lefty Sloan Ulrich brings swing-and-miss stuff, but command is the swing factor
Ulrich enters 2026 as a power-bodied left-hander who has already been asked to take on real innings at Youngstown State, including 17 relief appearances and four starts in 2025, after posting a strong 2023 JUCO line at Tri-C with 55 strikeouts in 48.2 innings and OCCAC Pitcher of the Year honors. His appeal is the arm-side upside and starter/reliever flexibility, but the run prevention has lagged behind the raw strikeout ability, so his fit is best for a staff that can develop his strike-throwing and sharpen consistency rather than expect instant polish.[1][3]
