Joe Crenshaw brings a contact-first bat and game-ready makeup to Richmond
In the 2026 season, Richmond freshman catcher Joe Crenshaw has been used in a limited role, but he already showed he can help on the bases and put the ball in play, including an RBI single against Cornell and a pair of steals on the year. His real calling card is the upside: a 6-foot-2, 180-pound right-handed catcher with a strong prep résumé, captaincy pedigree, and a summer line of .411 with gap power and speed. He looks like a high-energy, multi-positional athlete who could fit a team that values competitiveness, athleticism, and future catching development.
