In the 2025-26 season, Daeshun Ruffin was Jackson State’s engine, averaging 23.3 points and 5.3 assists per game while earning SWAC Player of the Year honors and First Team All-SWAC recognition.[2][12] At 5-foot-10, he’s a compact, fearless lead guard who can score at all three levels, create for others, and carry a massive usage load without blinking.[2][12] The wrinkle: he battled an injury late in the season, so his toughness is real, but so is the durability question.[15] If your team wants a high-motor, high-usage playmaker who can tilt a game by himself, Ruffin is absolutely worth the call.[2][15]
