Ellie Haggard is emerging as a power bat and steady defender for Illinois
Haggard, a sophomore catcher/utility piece for Illinois, pairs legitimate pop with a strong all-around profile: she hit .288 in 2026 with 9 home runs and 28 RBI, and Illinois noted a three-hit game against Minnesota plus nine multi-hit performances overall. She was also a Top 100 Class of 2024 recruit and a former Extra Innings Softball top-60 national prospect, which backs up the upside. She looks like a good fit if you want a right-handed hitter with proven run-producing ability, competitive edge, and room to keep climbing.
