Shamar Easter brings rare size and upside to UNC’s tight end room
Easter is a former top Arkansas recruit and one of the higher-upside portal tight ends UNC added in 2025, bringing prototypical length at 6-5 and around 215-230 pounds plus legit pass-catching potential. In the 2025 season, he produced modest counting stats at UNC—2 catches for 17 yards—and reports noted an earlier undisclosed injury that briefly sidelined him, so his value is more about traits than box-score production right now. Why care? If UNC unlocks his frame, route length and red-zone mismatch potential, he could become a sneaky weapon.
