Navy freshman Owen Phypers is already pitching like a weekend-starter weapon
In the 2026 season, Navy RHP Owen Phypers turned heads immediately: he opened with a five-inning, seven-strikeout debut, then followed with seven scoreless innings and Patriot League Pitcher of the Week honors, flashing a power arm that can miss bats and work deep into games[2][3][5]. The differentiator is not just stuff; he’s shown poise, quick adaptation, and the ability to carry a no-hitter deep into outings, which is exactly the kind of competitive edge coaches love in a starter[2][5].
