Big frame, wrestling grit, and a redshirt year in the wings
Jayden Baer enters Northern Arizona as a 6-foot-5, 260-pound defensive lineman who brings rare wrestling-bred leverage and toughness, plus a high-upside motor that scouts tend to love. In his final high school season at Quartz Hill, he posted 61 tackles and 10 sacks, and over his prep career piled up 191 tackles and 35 sacks, while NAU notes he was also a top-ranked wrestler in California. He redshirted in 2025 and did not appear in a game, so he looks more like a developmental fit than an immediate stat-sheet star—but one with real trench upside.
