D.J. Covington was a two-way force for VMI
D.J. Covington’s VMI profile is built on old-school frontcourt production: in the 2013-14 season, he averaged 20.1 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 3.0 blocks while shooting 59.3% from the field, making him one of the nation’s most efficient high-usage bigs. He was a rim-protecting, paint-dominating forward with real touch, and he twice earned Big South Defensive Player of the Year honors. If you want toughness, shot-blocking, and a player who can anchor the interior at both ends, Covington was absolutely the guy.
