Gabriel Tirado brings switch-hit-level impact? Not quite — but a strong-armed, catcher-first profile with legit pop for UConn
Tirado is a **compact, physical catcher** with a reputation for a **strong arm**, clean footwork, and real pop at the plate, including a **104.6 mph max exit velocity** and a **7.41–7.43 second 60-yard dash** on public scouting reports.[1][4] He’s listed as a **freshman catcher/1B at UConn** and has also shown enough bat-to-ball value to project as a steady, grinder-type contributor rather than a pure tools-only prospect.[3][6][8] If you want a catcher who can defend the position and flash occasional impact contact, he’s the kind of player who quietly raises a roster’s floor.[3][4][8]
