Talented local QB prospect still finding his footing at Eastern Illinois
Blainey Dowling brings legit pedigree and size to Eastern Illinois: the Chicago Mount Carmel product was a state-title quarterback, earned major all-area/all-state recognition, and arrived as a two-star recruit. In college, his 2024 snaps showed limited production—69 passing yards, one interception, and no touchdowns in four games—but the upside is the arm talent and competitive background that made him a high-end high school winner. A season-ending injury in 2025 also slowed his development, so he profiles more as a long-term bet than an immediate starter.
