Xavier’s young righty with upside and innings to prove
In the 2026 season, Sam Eppley is a sophomore right-handed pitcher for Xavier at 6-foot-1, 180 pounds, and his profile suggests a developmental arm with real strikeout pedigree from high school, where he fanned 35 hitters in 14.1 innings in 2022. Xavier’s roster lists him as a R/R arm from Union, Ky., and he appeared in the 2026 season against Georgia Tech, working 0.2 innings with one hit, one walk, and no runs allowed. He looks like a fit for a team that values projectable depth, competitive makeup, and a pitcher who may still be climbing his ceiling rather than a finished product.
