Pontigo is a 6'2", 248-pound sophomore who moved from linebacker to defensive line for McNeese, and that versatility is his calling card as much as his frame. In the 2025 season, he appeared in 2 games and recorded 1 tackle and 1.0 tackle for loss, a small sample but enough to show he can contribute in the trenches.[4][9] What makes him interesting is the developmental upside: he has the build to hold up inside, the background to understand space and pursuit, and the kind of position flexibility coaches like when they want a rugged, adaptable front-seven piece.[3][4]
