Freshman Samford corner with size, early reps, and upside
In the 2026 season, Corrion Tyson is a true freshman cornerback for Samford listed at 5-foot-11, 180 pounds, and he has already logged early defensive snaps, including 2 total tackles through the opening games. His high-school résumé shows multi-phase value and playmaking juice: at Minor HS, he played defensive back and wide receiver, and as a senior he posted 57 tackles, 2 interceptions, and a fumble recovery. The big draw is developmental upside—he brings length, toughness, and versatility, making him an intriguing fit for a defense that wants competitive secondary depth with room to grow.
