Parker Blackman gives Sam Houston a left-handed bat with everyday center-field value
Blackman has already carved out a major role at Sam Houston as a freshman, appearing in 55 games and making 52 starts in 2025 while handling the primary center-field job[6]. His value comes from steady contact, on-base ability, and defensive reliability in a premium outfield spot; his 2026 line through D1Baseball shows he is still developing offensively (.162 AVG, 0 HR, 4 RBI, 5 R)[2]. He also brought strong prep production at Grand Oaks, where he hit .500 with a .556 OBP in 2024-25, hinting at the disciplined approach and upside that make him a fit for teams needing a rangy, left-handed outfielder with projection[1][5].
