Joshua Shanklin brings JuCo wrecking-ball upside to ASU’s front
Shanklin is an intriguing Arizona State defensive lineman because he arrives with proven pass-rush production and real playmaking juice: at Foothill College in 2024, he posted 64 tackles, 19.0 tackles for loss, 14.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, and six pass breakups, then came to ASU as a highly touted JUCO edge prospect. The standout trait is disruption—he flashes burst, motor, and finish ability—but at roughly 6-3 and 240, his next step is adding strength and staying consistently impactful against Power 4 physicality.
