Homegrown Texans back with big-play bloodlines and room to grow
Maruska enters 2026 as a junior running back for Tarleton State, but his college résumé is still light: he made his collegiate debut in 2024 and appeared in one game that season. What makes him interesting is the ceiling—he was a monster at Stephenville High, where he set school records with 2,098 rushing yards in a season and 311 in a game, and he helped deliver a 2021 state title. He looks like a developmental RB who brings proven tackle-breaking instincts, hometown toughness, and a proven work ethic; if Tarleton wants an upside swing rather than a finished product, he fits the bill.
