Tommy Hennessey brings captain’s pedigree and infield versatility to UMass
Tommy Hennessey is a Massachusetts infielder who arrives at UMass with a strong high-school resume: three-year team captain, three-time team MVP, and a senior year line of .440 with 3 home runs, 26 RBI, and 18 steals. He was also a Mid Watch A Player of the Year and two-time MBCA selection, which fits the profile of a high-energy, all-around middle-infield type. At UMass in 2026, he appeared in game action mostly in depth roles, so the intrigue is his defensive utility, competitiveness, and winning background more than raw stat volume.
