Connor Capece is Creighton’s breakout bat behind the plate
In the 2026 season, Creighton catcher Connor Capece has been a high-impact run producer and one of the Bluejays’ top returners, highlighted by a .304 average, 48 RBI, and a .780 OPS in the team’s 2026 stat table, plus a Buster Posey Watch List nod and a BIG EAST Player of the Week award after a 10-RBI weekend. He’s more than the numbers: Capece has been praised for delivering in the postseason, handling a heavy catching load, and bringing a clutch, steady presence for a team that trusted him in 57 of 56 games listed in the stat line. If you want a catcher who can hit, drive in runs, and anchor a staff, he fits the bill nicely.[6][7][8]
