Christian Velez brings speed, versatility, and a high-upside arm to Norfolk State
In the 2026 season, Christian Velez has been a low-usage piece for Norfolk State, appearing in four games, so the current sample is small—but his value is in his two-way flexibility as an outfielder/left-handed pitcher and in the speed he showed in 2025, when he went 3-for-3 stealing bases. He also showed he can contribute in short bursts offensively, posting three hits, five runs, and a double across 13 games as a freshman. If you need a depth athlete with athleticism, roster flexibility, and developmental upside, he’s a sneaky interesting fit.
