St. Thomas RHP with Elite Strikeout Intensity and High-Velocity Potential
Max Nelson, the 6'2" RHP for St. Thomas-Minnesota Tommies, stands out not just for his 83-85 mph fastball and 70-73 mph curveball from his 2024 prep days, but for his relentless mound intensity and ability to record two strikeouts in just 1.0 inning during his 2026 D1 season despite a high 18.00 ERA. Ranked 78th in Minnesota’s 2024 class, Nelson’s differentiator is his fierce competitive personality and two-time varsity letter-winning resilience, making him a high-upside fit for teams seeking a pitcher with elite strikeout instincts and room to refine consistency, rather than a polished veteran. His injury history is clean, and his intensity level is unmatched, answering why you should care: he’s a data-driven prospect with raw tools that translate to game-winning pressure.
