Freshman RHP Amelia Long brings strikeout pedigree and big-game polish to Pitt
Amelia Long arrived at Pittsburgh as a high-upside right-hander with a proven run of dominance: in her senior season at Jefferson Forest, she went 19-2 with a 0.78 ERA, 233 strikeouts, just 14 walks, and a .133 opponent average, and Pitt’s 2025 signing note says she finished her prep career with 500+ strikeouts. She was also named to the Softball America ACC Freshman Watch List in 2026, signaling real early confidence in her upside. If you want a pitcher with command, competitiveness, and postseason-tested poise, she’s a strong fit.
