Gavin Hunter is emerging as Arizona’s steady, versatile DB with starter upside
In the 2025 season, Arizona’s Gavin Hunter flashed as a playmaker, posting 19 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 4 pass breakups, and an interception while stepping into a larger role in the Wildcats’ secondary. He brings size, versatility, and leadership buzz — he’s been used at slot corner and free safety, and coaches have challenged him to lead a reshuffled defensive backfield. The big question for a team: dependable, physical, and ascending, but still more proven as a complementary piece than a finished shutdown star.
