Cecil Lofton is a left-handed bat giving Southern Illinois real middle-order pop
Lofton has been a productive, run-driving INF for Southern Illinois in the 2026 season, hitting .267 with 6 home runs and 34 RBI, and he brings a stout 6'0", 225-pound frame that fits a corner-infield power profile.[1] He also owns a strong career offensive track record at SIU, with a .429 batting average and .530 on-base percentage over four varsity seasons, which points to advanced contact skills and consistent strike-zone control rather than just one hot stretch.[3] He looks like a fit for a team that wants a mature, left-handed hitter with proven production and run-producing ability.[1][3]
