Xavier Carrera’s arm talent makes him one of Indiana’s most intriguing freshman arms
In the 2026 season, Xavier Carrera entered Indiana as a blue-chip, hard-throwing right-hander with legitimate power stuff, with recruiting reports saying he has been up to 95 mph and could be a bullpen weapon right away.[6][13] Baseball America described him as a 6-foot-3, 205-pound arm with quick velocity, a three-quarters slot, and real upside, while also flagging command as the swing factor.[3] He already showed early trust in relief work for the Hoosiers, which fits a pitcher who can attack hitters and miss bats when he’s on.[5][9]
