Mobile, young Wisconsin QB with real upside
Carter Smith’s 2025 freshman season at Wisconsin showed a dual-threat quarterback who can help with legs while the passing game develops: he played in four games with three starts, throwing for 201 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception while rushing for 87 yards and a score.[4][14] His differentiators are toughness, movement skills and early-game poise in pressure spots, including a ranked-opponent win over Washington and a start at No. 2 Indiana.[4][8] He still needs efficiency and consistency as a passer, but his athletic profile and competitive edge make him a worthwhile fit for a team that can build around a developmental QB.[1][3][4]
