John Damozonio is emerging as a high-upside strikeout arm for Saint Mary’s
Damozonio has broken out in 2026 with back-to-back career outings, including a nine-strikeout shutout start and an 11-strikeout gem, while earning national Pitcher of the Year semifinalist recognition; that combination points to real swing-and-miss stuff, starter-quality durability, and the kind of competitive edge coaches want on weekend roles.[1][4][9] At 6'2" and 195 pounds, he brings a power-righty frame and has steadily grown from a limited 2024 role into a key member of the Gaels’ rotation, making him a strong fit for a staff looking for upside, innings, and a pitcher trending in the right direction.[6][7]
