VMI’s Owen Riley: a steady, academic arm with late-blooming upside
In the 2026 season, Owen Riley gives VMI a dependable right-handed option who has gradually earned more trust, appearing in four games and striking out four batters in 6.1 innings after a 2025 campaign that included a career-high 3.2-inning outing and a solid team role. He stands out more for consistency, strike-throwing, and quiet competitiveness than gaudy volume, and his academic honor-roll background hints at the kind of disciplined, coachable fit programs like. If you want a polished, low-drama competitor who keeps improving, Riley is worth a look.
