Big-bodied left-handed bat with real upside at Long Beach State
Gian De Castro is a 6-foot-4, 230-pound redshirt freshman INF at Long Beach State in the 2026 season, and the profile jumps off the page: power frame, left-handed bat, and an advanced approach from his Arizona State days. Long Beach State listed him as a 2026 roster piece after he sat out 2025 as a redshirt, and the early 2026 stat line shows limited but developing production. The why-care angle? He looks like a classic upside swing—someone who can grow into impact power if the hit tool keeps catching up. If your team wants ceiling, not just floor, he’s worth a close look.
