Drew Townson brings Fresno State a battle-tested, sinker-first righty with starter value
In the 2026 season, Drew Townson became a key rotation piece for Fresno State, making 17 appearances and 10 starts while leading the team with 47 strikeouts over 57.0 innings, showing durability and weekend-starter trust. He’s a 6-foot right-hander from Bakersfield who moved from position player to pitcher and has already handled injury adversity, including a 2025 foot issue. The appeal: strikes, innings, and a competitive edge that suggests he can fit as a polished, low-drama innings-eater with starter upside.
