Shay Johnson Jr. brings rim protection and veteran depth to Long Beach State
In the 2025-26 season, Shay Johnson Jr. was a senior forward for Long Beach State who appeared in 31 games, made 8 starts, and led the Beach with 22 blocks while averaging 2.4 points and 1.9 rebounds per game. He’s not a volume scorer, but his value is in size, shot deterrence, and low-mistake minutes—he shot 70.8% from the field and gives a team a true interior presence at 6-10, 225. If you need a sturdy, defense-first big who can anchor the paint and play a defined role, he fits the bill.
