Wichita State's Statsheet-Stuffing Defensive Dynamo (2012-16)
Ron Baker transformed from an unheralded recruit into one of college basketball's elite guards at Wichita State, averaging a team-high 14.7 PPG with 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.8 blocks in his career—leading Shockers guards in defensive boards (157) and blocks (27). His relentless intensity, two-way versatility, and gritty personality made him a coach's dream and fan favorite, embodying Wichita State's tough, underdog ethos. Care because he proves mid-major guards can dominate; a perfect fit for teams needing high-motor defenders who elevate teammates without needing the spotlight.
