Matt Chatelle brings veteran bat, size, and stability behind the plate for Rutgers
In the 2026 season, Rutgers senior catcher Matt Chatelle has been a steady offensive force, with reports showing him among the Scarlet Knights’ best hitters and box scores reflecting timely production, including multi-hit and RBI games. At 6-foot-4 and 230 pounds, he offers a big, right-handed presence with pop, experience, and lineup flexibility as both catcher and designated hitter. The appeal is simple: he looks like a dependable everyday bat who can handle pressure, and that veteran edge makes him a strong fit for a team wanting power, poise, and proven college production.
