Ayden West is UNCG’s freshman bullpen spark, flashing poise and late-inning trust
In the 2026 season, Ayden West emerged as a useful right-handed reliever for UNC Greensboro, leading the team’s bullpen with a 3.38 ERA, 21 appearances, and 25-plus innings pitched, and he also logged a save-worthy profile with 23 strikeouts against 24 walks. He’s been credited with winning his first collegiate game and has shown enough composure in tight spots that coaches have leaned on him in pressure innings; the main fit question is command consistency, but the upside is a young arm who competes and already earns trust in leverage.
