Jan Avila brings legit JUCO pop and a 6-3 corner-infield frame to Lamar
In the 2025 season at Rutgers, Jan Avila logged only 3 games, so the sample there was tiny, but Lamar’s 2025 portal note shows why he’s intriguing: at Amarillo College, he hit .336 with 9 homers, 13 doubles, 6 triples and 45 RBI in 2024 after a freshman year with a .376 average, 4 homers and 37 RBI. He’s a right-handed bat with extra-base juice, physicality, and proven run production; the fit question is whether Lamar gets the full-force version after a limited Rutgers stop and a did-not-play senior year note for 2026.
