DJ Thompson gives Western Michigan a reliable late-game arm with swing-and-miss bite
DJ Thompson has been one of Western Michigan’s more trusted bullpen pieces in the 2026 season, posting a 2-1 record with a 5.75 ERA over 20.1 innings while striking out 18 and logging key leverage outings[2]. He helped the Broncos complete a no-hitter in 2025 and has shown he can flip a game with short, clean relief stretches, including scoreless work in a series-clinching win over CSUN in 2026[3][7]. The appeal is simple: he competes, can miss bats, and has already shown he can handle pressure without blinking[3][7].
