Syracuse adds a tough, productive local-style bruiser at RB in Shavane Anderson Jr.
Shavane Anderson Jr. is a 6-foot-1, 205-pound freshman running back from William Penn (York, Pa.) who signed with Syracuse after a September 2025 commitment, and he was rated a three-star prospect with rankings ranging from about No. 86 to No. 102 among 2026 running backs depending on the recruiting service. He looks like a downhill, physical fit for an Orange backfield that needed bodies, and the fact that Syracuse was his only Power Four offer suggests this is a development bet with upside rather than a finished product. He’s the kind of prospect you care about if you want size, toughness, and a player who may thrive with patience and coaching.
