Wade Mountz brings size, upside, and a power-righthander frame to SJSU
Mountz, a 6-foot-7 sophomore RHP at San José State, stands out for pure physical upside and a power-pitcher build that already drew national recruiting attention as a top-303 overall prospect and top-92 RHP in the 2024 class. In his 2025 college work, he showed flashes but was inconsistent, including a brief outing at Louisiana with 1 earned run, 4 walks, and 1 strikeout in 0.2 innings. The big question is command; the fit is obvious for a staff betting on arm talent, toughness, and late-bloomer growth.
