Tyler Wood gives UC Davis a steady right-handed arm with swing-and-miss flashes
Tyler Wood has been a useful 2026 piece for UC Davis, working mostly in relief and showing enough poise to earn multiple wins, including a strong 2.1-inning, 4-strikeout outing against Nevada and a win over Hawaiʻi. His value is in his workable 6'3" frame, right-handed feel on the mound, and ability to bridge innings without blinking when the Aggies need stability. The stat line is solid rather than flashy, but the differentiator is his role flexibility and competitive edge—exactly the kind of arm a staff wants in the middle innings.
