Cole Sims bringing real middle-infield pop to Western Illinois
Sims looks like an impact junior INF for Western Illinois, arriving with a proven bat after hitting .354 with a .560 slugging percentage, 4 home runs, and 14 RBIs at Frontier Community College, and early career chatter says he’s started hot with a .449/.542/.837 line plus team-leading RBI production. He stands out for his size, strength, and extra-base power, while prep data also points to solid infield arm strength and playable speed. For a roster looking for a physical infielder who can hit for damage rather than just contact, he’s a very interesting fit.
